Call for help with History Week

History Week was initiated by the History Council of NSW in 1997 to showcase the rich, diverse history being produced by organisations and individuals across the state. With over 200 events across NSW, History Week is about celebrating our local history.

This year History Week is 6-14 September, with the theme "The Water's Edge". During this week Parkes Shire Library will be hosting a display around this theme, exploring our communities history around water AND the lack of water, drought.

Parkes Shire Library would like to invite the community to bring in photographs, equipment, stories etc, about water and drought. Old sprinklers, photos from water skiing days or days of drought are just some ideas.

Please contact Shellie Buckle on 6861 2309 if you would like more information, or have some great display ideas to share.
