Council Payments

Rate Notices are issued in July of every year. Rates Instalment Due Dates are as follows: 31 August, 30 November, 28 February, 31 May. There are three alternative arrangements available for payment of rates:

PAYMENT IN FULL BY THE DUE DATE If not electing to pay rates by instalments, payment in full must be received by Council by the close of business 31 August to avoid the imposition of daily interest on the first instalment component.
PAYMENT OF FOUR(4) INSTALMENTS Instalments are due 31 August, 30 November, 28 February and 31 May.
IN CASE OF HARDSHIP Payments by instalments in accordance with arrangements made following written request to Council under Section 564. Council may consider the waiver of accrued interest under Section 567.

METHODS OF PAYMENT

PAYMENT THROUGH ANY BANK You do not need to hold an account with the Bank at which you make your payment.(Note you must take you rate notice with you to the bank) Westpac will not charge a transfer fee. Other Banks may. Council will not be responsible for any transfer fee incurred.
PAYMENT THROUGH MAIL
Make your cheque or money order payable to PARKES SHIRE COUNCIL and crossed Not Negotiable.

(Kindly remove the deposit slip on your notice and return it with your payment)
PERSONAL PAYMENT TO COUNCIL'S ADMINISTRATION CENTRE
Present notice INTACT to Council's cashier. The top section will be returned to you with Council's official receipt attached.
Council's office is open for receipt of payments from 8.30am to 5.00pm Monday - Friday (excluding Public Holidays)
DO NOT detach the deposit section when making personal payment.
NO CHANGE will be given for any cheques tendered in payment of rates.
PERSONAL PAYMENT AT COUNCIL AGENCIES Council operates agencies at the Bogan Gate Post office, Trundle Newsagent and the Stanbrooks General Store Tullamore. Contact the respective Agencies for opening times:

BPAY Four easy steps are all you need to remember:
1. Look for the distinctive BPAY logo on each bill you receive. (currently only available for Rates and Water Bills)
2. Call your phone banking service or log onto your Internet banking service.
3. Select the bill payment option and follow the simple instructions. BPay Biller code ID for Parkes Shire is: 787978
4. Record your receipt number.

DIRECT DEBIT PAYMENTS This payment option is a debit transaction transferred directly from your nominated bank account. Once registered, you can authorise Parkes Shire Council to automatically debit your account in periodic instalments. The direct debit method of payment is the cheapest and easiest way for you to pay your rates. To register as a Direct Debit customer, you need to obtain an application form by either;
- Downloading the Direct Debit form or by
- Telephoning the Rates Section on 02 6861 2333
The form should be submitted to Council either by mail, e-mail, fax or in person.
