Regional Towns

Condobolin/ Lake Cargelligo/ Lachlan Region

The region "The Heart of NSW" encompasses Lachlan Shire and extends to the Kidman, Newell, Barrier and Mitchell Highways this 'accessible outback' area includes the towns and villages of Albert, Bogan Gate, Burcher, Euabalong,  Condobolin, Fifield, Lake Cargelligo, Tottenham, Trundle and Tullamore.  Rich in diversity and history, travelling to the "Heart of NSW" is an experience.

Cowra

Situated 105km south-east of Parkes, Cowra offers a great destination for a day trip - with its rich POW history, famous Japanese gardens and great vineyards.

Dubbo

Situated 120km north of Parkes, or just 70km north of Peak Hill on the Newell Highway, Dubbo offers a great destination for a day trip, with so much more to explore than just the Zoo.

Forbes

Situated just 30km south of Parkes on the Newell Highway, Forbes is an interesting and historical town, that is well worth a day trip from Parkes.

Just 100km east of Parkes, Orange serves as a great day tip for those seeking gourmet regional wine and produce experiences.

Now linked by sealed road all the way, head 105km north-east of Parkes on the Renshaw-McGirr Way to Wellington, home of the Caves and Phosphate Mine.

Utes in the Paddock
