Memorial Hill

Last modified: December 10, 2008 - 12:13 AM

Entry from eastern end of Bushman Street - near Albert Street.

The imposing Shrine of Remembrance, Memorial Hill, provides magnificent panoramic views of Parkes and surrounding valleys. The 35 metre high Shrine is topped by a beacon light, it was unveiled and dedicated in November 1953 as a memorial to the men and women who made the supreme sacrifice during the World Wars and subsequent tours of duty.

Enjoy a leisurely bush walk around the monument surrounds or a picnic in the Arboretum and Rotary Park on the northern side of the hill.
